FIX THE OUTSIDE VIEW
English proverb says: "Do not judge a book by it's
cover", which literally means: do not judge a book by its cover only. This
maxim has a meaning that we should not judge someone or something only through
the view outside. But in everyday life, we often ignore the maxim and even
irrelevant in our daily lives in interacting with others. Often we judge things
only through the outer appearance or what we can see by naked eye.
In everyday life, the old adage "do not judge a book by its
cover only" is often irrelevant. We often feel that the first impression
is very important in influencing one's judgment about something. For example,
when we select books in a state sealed so we can only see and read the writing
on the cover, of course we will assess these books through the display cover
because we are not allowed to break the seal to know how and what the contents
of the book -book we choose it, and in the end, we will impose our choices on a
book with the cover to see the most interesting.
Supposition choose a book from cover as exemplified above less
the same as the way a person judging others, especially those who first met.
The first impression will be obtained by a person by looking at others from the
outside, look appetizing clothes, see neatness appearance, and see the outside
view others that are accessible to the senses. Because if not of things that
are invisible, or what has been witnessed by the senses, through what someone
else will be able to assess and give opinions about others ?. To truly
understand and explore the content or nature of someone else, someone needs a
long time, can not just judge of all two meetings.
Implementation of the adage "judge a book by its
cover" can we meet in the world of work and everyday life. When we apply
for a job, for example, we will be faced with the interview. In the interview
test, the testers often just ask a little bit about ourselves, for example,
just ask the data ourselves, at most ask what our vision and mission.
The very brief question would not be able to answer much less
describe about who exactly we are and how our nature. In the interview, the
examiner actually more to see and watch our outer appearance, just judging by
what can be captured through the five senses, both of the eyes, ears, and other
senses. For it is impossible that the examiner or the interviewer will be able
to read the contents of our hearts. So in this case, the first impression will
determine the ratings. An impressive external appearance will affect the
acceptance or rejection of a person in finding a job in a new place.
From the examples above experience, of course we can infer how
important the appearance or the outside view as an impression and assessment of
a person. If we are good outer appearance, it would be good also our impression
in the eyes of others, at least the initial impression. Conversely, if the
external appearance of us look bad in the eyes of people, the impression will
stick to mind is and will only change once he truly know ourselves or hear
about the goodness of ourselves than others. In most cases, the initial
impression one receives will stick so long and it would be difficult even
erased from memory.
For this reason, we must improve our outer appearance in order
to give a good initial impression on others to provide an assessment of
ourselves. A good start is a very important asset in starting everything,
especially the introduction. As for the external appearance that we must
improve the appearance or style can be dressed us, of our language, of our mind
and body gestures, and so forth. Why improve the external appearance in us is
important to do? The answer is, because others will judge us on what can be
captured through the five senses.
Paying attention to the style of dress is the first step in
improving the appearance of the beginning of our giving a good impression in
the eyes of others. What is inherent in our bodies will be one element of the
judgment of others about ourselves. If we were dressed, of course other people
will be more comfortable and impressed us.
Conversely, if we look disheveled, then other people would be
uncomfortable seeing us. In everyday life, style of dress is often the most
important element in giving the initial impression. For example, people who
wear trousers were torn with crumpled shirt will make an impression on us that
the person is very sloppy, and people are sloppy usually potentially unruly and
difficult advised.
